Congratulations

To RDU ASSAULT

Your 2009 5 Man A-Division Champions!

Kissimmee, Fl MLK weekend proved to be a place to be if you wanted to test your skills in the flag football word. In a tournament that many would say is best venue that brings the highest flag football talent in the nation in 1 location. Over 279 teams traveled south to the warmer time zone to compete and to prove that they are the best team in their division. Our NC teams traveled down this year and did not disappoint this year.

In 8 Man contact the Oilers manage to battle back from a 1st day loss to finish 4th overall in the C division. In a double elimination tournament that is one of the hardest things to. If you make it to the final day of play you can play up to 6 games all back-to-back. That is exactly what Who’s Next had to do. With this supposedly being the final year that TIM Langdon our league director will competing in Fl. They left nothing behind. After losing their first game they put it together and made it all the way back into the 5 Man B-Division championship game. Unfortunately, things did not fall their way on the final drive. In 5 Man A-Division it was a battle of the 2 Carolina powerhouses in the championship game. RDU Assault defeated Blinco’s by 1 point to take home the title and the bragging rights. RDU Assault was the only team to go undefeated for the 5 man division.  Blinco’s although did not bring home a championship they did play in both the 5 Man A and 35&older division. In 7 Man Screen the boys from the beach managed to defeat some of the heavily favored teams the first time around but could not bring that same energy on the final day. The Hurricanes of Wilmington finished tie for 5th place. In the women’s side the team Boys on the Side from Charlotte defeated all to take home the 7 Women Screen title. QCFFL.net finished 4th in 7 Man Screen B-Division.
